The Service

Forged in Trivia is a free, browser-based multiplayer trivia game. Players create or join rooms using a shared code and play one of several trivia game modes together. You can play as a guest, or create a free account to get a public profile, add friends, and write and publish your own trivia.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service or create an account.

Guests and Accounts

You can use the Service as a guest. Your browser is given an anonymous session when you visit, and you're responsible for activity that happens under it and for the display name and content you choose to submit.

Accounts are optional. If you create one, you agree to provide an email address you control, to keep your password secure, and not to share your account with anyone else. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account — tell us on Discord as soon as possible if you think someone else has access to it.

Usernames are public and must follow the rules below. We may rename or reclaim a username that impersonates someone, is offensive, or otherwise breaks these Terms.

If you sign in with Discord, your use of Discord is also governed by Discord's own terms.

Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• ›Use a display name, username, profile picture, chat message, trivia, or other submission that is harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise abusive
• ›Impersonate another player, host, or Forged in Trivia staff
• ›Publish trivia that infringes copyright or other rights, or that is spam or deliberately misleading
• ›Send unwanted friend requests or game invites to harass another player, or file reports in bad faith
• ›Cheat, exploit bugs, or interfere with other players' ability to fairly play a game
• ›Create accounts in bulk, or access an account that is not yours
• ›Attempt to disrupt, overload, or bypass rate limits or other protections on the Service
• ›Use automated tools, such as bots or scripts, to access the Service outside of normal browser use

Moderation and Termination

Chat is filtered for profanity automatically, and players can report published trivia to us. We may remove or unpublish content, rename a username, remove a player from a room, suspend or delete an account, or block a session's access to the Service at any time, without notice, if we believe these Terms have been violated. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

You can stop using the Service whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account — our Privacy Policy explains how.

Content You Submit

Chat messages are ephemeral and are deleted when a room closes — we don't keep a record of them.

You keep ownership of the trivia you write. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute it as needed to run the Service; for a trivia you publish, that includes letting other players view it, share it, and host games with it. The license ends when you delete the trivia, except for copies that have already been cached or shared. You're responsible for what you publish and must have the right to publish it — the same goes for any profile picture you upload. We don't review trivia before it appears and aren't responsible for its accuracy.

If you submit a bug report or suggest a trivia question, you grant us the right to use, edit, and publish that submission, for example by adding your suggested question to the game, without compensation. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to submit what you send us.

Intellectual Property

The Forged in Trivia name, logo, game design, and built-in trivia question content are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond using the Service as intended. Trivia written by players belongs to the players who wrote it.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that no account or content will ever be lost, or that every trivia question and answer is accurate — including trivia written by other players.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Forged in Trivia is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
